Media, PA Youth Nominated as Parish Ambassadors Media, PA Youth Nominated as Parish Ambassadors Media, PA, October, 2009 – Four local youth were named to represent St. George Greek Orthodox Church in the inaugural Metropolitan Evangelos Ambassador Awards Program. The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Jersey created this a award to recognize young men and women in the Southern Jersey, Greater Philadelphia area and Delaware region who have contribute greatly to their church and community while growing stronger in their faith. The following young men and women were selected based on their personifying the attributes of the four basic components of Orthodox Life: Worship, Service, Witness and Fellowship. - Ahileas Yiantsos of Mullica Hill, NJ was nominated as an Ambassador of Faith, someone who embodies the spiritual qualities of an Orthodox Christian; - Alex Wilson of Aston, PA was nominated as an Ambassador of Love, one who exemplifies the spirit of service; - Katherine Matekovic of Boothwyn, PA was nominated as an Ambassador of Hope, a person who lives life with Orthodox Christian values; and, - Phillip Kemmerer of Newark, DE was nominated as an Ambassador of Peace, a young person who addresses the cultural diversity of our society with compassion and love for all. “In today¢s world there are many things drawing young people away from the Church,” says Fr.
