Kati Garbi & The Shirelles to Perform at Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund 19th Anniversary Gala Honoring George Eads & James Orphanides


NEW YORK: The Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund will honor business leader James Orphanides (Partner Centurion Holdings LLC and Chairman Emeritus of First American Title Insurance Co. of NY) and George Eads, star of the hit CBS drama, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, at its 19th Anniversary Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel on Saturday, May 8, 2010. The HTSF is also pleased to welcome Greek singing sensation Katy Garbi and the legendary group The Shirelles for a Greek American Bandstand concert hosted by FOX-5s Ernie Anastos. Garbi has long been one of Greeces most successful artists over the last two decades (hits include Esena Mono, Katapliktiko, Hamena, Akouse Agori Mou, and Tha Melacholiso) and The Shirelles, as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees are best known for their hits “Will you still love me tomorrow,” “Mama Said,” and “Soldier Boy.”

Scholarship presenters will include Fox News anchor Ernie Anastos, CBS News anchor Alexis Christoforous, Guiding Light star Frank Dicopoulos Fox-5 meteorologist Nick Gregory, CSI:NY star Melina Kanakaredes, Iron Chef Cat Cora, Dancing with the Stars Gilles Marini, American Idols Constantine Maroulis and Judge Nicholas Tsoucalas. Over 1200 people are expected to attend as the HTSF awards scholarships to Greek-American students from across the country. To date, the HTSF has awarded over $1.7 Million Dollars to over 700 students.

Dinner Chairman is New York Attorney Nick Katsoris, General Counsel of the Red Apple Group. Katsoris is also author of the Loukoumi childrens book series. General Chairs are humanitarians and business leaders Margo & John Catsimatidis. John is Chairman if the Red Apple Group and Publisher of the Hellenic Times with his wife Margo, who co-Publisher of the Hellenic Times and an advertising executive in New York City and they are intricately involved in numerous charities including the Police Athletic League, The National Alzheimers Committee, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and others.

Ticket prices are as follows: General admission tickets are from $200 per person; Youth tickets are $165 (35 and under if purchased by April 23rd; $185 thereafter). Tables (including sponsorships of scholarships) may also be purchased as follows: Humanitarian Table ($50,000), Corporate Chair Table ($25,000), Chairman Table ($20,000); Vice-Chairman Table ($15,000); Tribute Table ($10,000); Benefactor Table ($7,000); Patron Table ($3,500).
