It was back in December 2006, while on an impromptu weekend trip to The Bahamas, the idea for Shark Pack was born. If you have ever been to The Bahamas, the waters are almost as blue and inviting as a Greek island. The people are friendly to tourists and I look forward to many returns in the future. However, on this particular trip, I was swimming in the water about 50 yards out when someone decided to swipe my bag containing my cell phone, all of my ids, credit cards, and a few hundred in cash. Up to this point in my life, I had never experienced theft at the beach first hand. For those of you that have, you know the intense feelings that can surface. Imagine being on foreign soil with no cash and no identification. Then imagine the perpetrator(s) enjoying a nice surf and turf dinner with YOUR money. Trust me, my Greek blood was boiling to the point I could have run through a brick wall. For the record, I didn¢t run through a brick wall. But I was borderline obsessed to do something about it so that it never happens to another human being. I was on a personal mission to create a product that would virtually eliminate theft at the beach. After 16 months of research and development and an eventual trip to China, the product I have imagined was starting to become a reality. Not only did I want to create a high quality product that works, but I also wanted it to be aesthetically pleasing. The initial concept idea was more or less, a fanny pack. Well Rain Man, the problem with fanny packs is that NO ONE WANTS A FANNY PACK! Okay, the fanny pack idea was out. Even though I would have worn it proudly, I digressed because I wanted my product to be different from anything on the market. A few months later, while watching a James Bond film, I noticed actress Halle Berry emerge from the blue waters of, ironically enough, The Bahamas. At that very moment, a light bulb turned on in my head because, attached to her bikini was a knife. So I started toying around with designs similar to her bikini attachment. The end result is Shark Pack, a line of products made out of 0.42mm of soft matte PVC. In addition to being waterproof up to 19¢, our cases are also sand proof. If you¢ve ever had a sandy cell phone, you know it can take days to get all the sand out. Not to mention the scratches to electronics.
